VERA provided wind resource maps for each of Vermont's 14 counties to the Vermont Department of Public Service in May 2004. These maps illustrate estimated average annual long-term wind speeds at two heights above ground based on large-scale (200-meter horizontal resolution) wind maps produced by AWS.

These county-scale maps estimate wind resource at 30 and 50 meters above ground are available for download below in pdf format. The 30-meter height is appropriate for residential-scale wind turbines. The 50-meter height is appropriate for taller wind generators, and can be requested by contacting vera@verarenewables.com.
